Put Your Trust In Someone Who Keeps His Promises
Good morning friends,
Today is Lent – Day 34. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. I was reading my devotional, Seeking God’s Face, and today’s passage came from Jeremiah 31:33B – 34.
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
As we enter into Holy Week, ponder this passage. Jesus is God’s fulfillment of this promise. God writes his law on our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our invitation – individually – to know God. Through Jesus, our sins are forgiven. And it is through Jesus that God sees us. Blameless. Pure. Holy.
Jesus is God’s resounding YES.
If you are wondering about God and Jesus and whether or not you can put your trust in him, I encourage you to explore those questions this week. Find a faith community near you and experience Palm Sunday. Set aside your normal activities and make it a priority to participate in the events leading up to Easter Sunday. I believe you’ll discover that God keeps his promises.
Blessings,
Denise
